Try lysol toilet bowl cleaner (just the regular kind not the kind with bleach) and a magic eraser. I've used this severe times with great success! :)

Try to find a product called Zud. It is in either powder form, or cream liquid. It may be found in Home Depot, Lowes, or a supermarket. This product removes even rust stains with little scrubbing effort.

I think the gait is decorative and not for keeping animals in the yard. I think you could add a pretty wire mesh to the back of this gate and it would keep an animal in but I don't think the gait is for keeping things in or out. I love this decorative gait.

I think it's for looks. Not everything has to have a function.

Jay Sifford Garden Design added this to The Garden Gate: A Preface to the Story Your Garden Wants to TellSep 1, 2015

Whimsy. Perhaps your personality is whimsical and unapologetically larger-than-life. Consider letting your garden gate reflect that aspect. Large, bold lines with superfluous curves will tell the story of a whimsical homeowner. Painting this gate a vibrant hue could carry the concept even further.Discover more elements of the whimsical gardenTell us: How does your garden gate reflect your personality and tell your story?MoreWhat Kind of Gardener Are You? 9. Decorative metalwork gate. It won’t keep the dogs in (unless lined) but a gate this lovely is made more with inspiration in mind. This is not to say you don’t have the knowledge or ability, but rather you don’t have the track record. You need to establish with the inspector that you will be seeking his or her input, and will be conscientiously working to fulfill the inspector’s requirements.Everyone wants to be respected. I suggest treating your inspector as if he or she were your mentor. You might just discover that your inspector will act like a good one.Up next: Next week we will examine typical final inspection requirements and recap what we’ve covered in this series on the building permit process.More in this series: When a Permit Is Required and When It’s Not | The Submittal Process | 10 Critical Code Requirements for Every Project | What to Know About Green Building and Energy Codes
