Coldspring Park- Dining Room Eclectic Dining Room, Boston

The paint color is Benjamin Moore's "Terrapin Green" - Be advised that due to the mix of natural and artificial lighting, digital photography processing, and your monitor's color settings, what you see on a computer screen will most likely be different than what the paint will look like in real life. We always suggest getting samples or chips and trying them in your own home before choosing a paint color.

@trishgraf- I can't be certain, but the artwork looks to me to be a Karl Appel lithograph. If not, it's definitely in-the-school-of.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

creative jewish mom.com added this to Can't-Beat Style: Candlestick Clusters
This collection of playful candlesticks in a contemporary Boston home bridges the gap between the modern wall color and the traditional dark table and chairs. And of course, the candles perfectly balance the colorful art. I'd also like to see these candlesticks placed on a long narrow tray to balance out the width of the large fixture above.
Charmean Neithart Interiors added this to 10 Tips for Discovering the Right Palette for You
Use restraint with bright colors. I love color; however, a room can suffer if there is too much of a good thing. Bright colors are best shown against crisp white details like casings or curtains. Note the neutral furniture that allows the paint color and vivid art to set the cheerful palette.
Marianne Lipanovich added this to The Simple Way to Remove Wax From Candlesticks
The best method, according to Deena M. Bermudez of the National Candle Association, is to chip at it with a blunt wooden or plastic stick, such as an emery board. Carefully chip away until all the wax is removed. Wipe the candlestick clean with a towel or cloth to get rid of the rest. It’s that easy.
Gwendolyn Purdom added this to The Latest Ways Candles Can Take Your Space to a Cozy New Level
Curtis says she has seen designers making bolder choices with candleholders, creating statement pieces, pieces that mix traditional candleholder shapes with modern finishes, and more sculptural styles.“Nowadays they make so many cool, funky, modern, vintage — all sorts of different styles,” she says. “[The holders] can even stand alone with or without a candle.” Unusual candleholder materials like wood and concrete can also make a candle feel cohesive and intentional in a space instead of like a temporary decoration.Fragrances are getting some surprising updates too. Nontraditional scents like leather or tomato and nostalgia-inducing scents named Campfire or Homemade Cookies are gaining popularity, the NCA says. The interest in filling a room with a distinct and familiar aroma fits right in with the idea of making cozier connections to home. Smell is thought to be the sense most closely tied to memories.Read more about how to savor natural scents at home
