Inspiration for a beach style dining room remodel in Boston

Concord Green HomeBeach Style Dining Room, Boston

2011 EcoHome Design Award Winner Key to the successful design were the homeowner priorities of family health, energy performance, and optimizing the walk-to-town construction site. To maintain health and air quality, the home features a fresh air ventilation system with energy recovery, a whole house HEPA filtration system, radiant & radiator heating distribution, and low/no VOC materials. The home’s energy performance focuses on passive heating/cooling techniques, natural daylighting, an improved building envelope, and efficient mechanical systems, collectively achieving overall energy performance of 50% better than code. To address the site opportunities, the home utilizes a footprint that maximizes southern exposure in the rear while still capturing the park view in the front. Thank you! I just went to it on their website. I may have to have mine made as I prefer it not to be adjustable. My daughter has similar in her room and the rings get caught.

Yes, I agree. Typically, I source my rods custom to avoid this issue, but the practicalities of the timing on this project had me reach for off-the-shelf stock and customize it on site.

I commissioned this table especially for this space. In fact, I joined craftsman Norton DeAmorim at the lumber yard to select the planks for the top. It is finished in a paint wash with varnished base, all with ECOS Organics non-toxic finishes. Thanks for the compliment.

That was a selection made by the interior designer in this project. See the web address above in this thread.

I had the doors primed in a diluted mixture of water and Mythic non-toxic paint matched to Benjamin Moore's Edgecomb Gray. I had the concrete island in the kitchen matched to the same color.

Draperies are a linen blend in a burlap color, custom designed for the project and made by Acorn Interiors.

Door opening is approximately 11'. There are four door panels that all move. I designed the doors to slide/stack back on face of wall to left of opening shown for ultimate flexibility.
