Contemporary, clean, warm kitchenContemporary Kitchen, San Diego

Clean, contemporary white oak slab cabinets with a white Chroma Crystal White countertop. Cabinets are set off with sleek stainless steel handles. The appliances are also stainless steel. The diswasher is Bosch, the refridgerator is a Kenmore professional built-in, stainless steel. The hood is stainless and glass from Futuro, Venice model. The double oven is stainless steel from LG. The stainless wine cooler is Uline. the stainless steel built-in microwave is form GE. The irridescent glass back splash that sets off the floating bar cabinet and surrounds window is Vihara Irridescent 1 x 4 glass in Puka. Perfect for entertaining. The floors are Italian ceramic planks that look like hardwood in a driftwood color. Simply gorgeous. Lighting is recessed and kept to a minimum to maintain the crisp clean look the client was striving for. I added a pop of orange and turquoise (not seen in the photos) for pillows on a bench as well as on the accessories. Cabinet fabricator, Mark Klindt ~ www.creativewoodworks.info

Example of a huge trendy u-shaped porcelain floor kitchen design in San Diego with flat-panel cabinets, stainless steel appliances, an undermount sink, gray cabinets, quartz countertops, white backsplash, glass tile backsplash and an island —  Houzz

Love these bar stools and can't seem to find them anywhere. I know you said your client bought them... Could you please ask them where they got them? Thanks in advance for your help. This interactive app is what makes it such a great community.

what is the brand of the paint and color

Sherwin Williams Useful Gray. It's a very pale greenish gray. Wonderful color and one of my favorites. Do a test spot first as it does change depending on the light.

Can you tell me the finish color and where I might find it? It's exactly the shade I've been looking for. Thanks!

The wood is a rift cut white oak with a custom stain.

Would solid wood cabinets warp? How would you prevent this?

Yes, porcelain tile that imitates wood is a great idea to use in all areas. It has the warm look of wood but the durability of tile. It now comes in so many sizes and colors and it looks very realistic.

Thanks Kristin. I found some great ones today at a file store. Also wanted to say I love the eat in peninsula. I plan on putting one in my kitchen in place of a breakfast table close to range with bar stools to make my breakfast nook a cool and fun place to hang out with the cook. I also have a counter/bar top facing the den but that's more for those wanting to watch the game or be in the middle of the action. I had a number of people tell me I needed a kitchen table but I had one there before and NEVER used it. I will post some pics soon. Thanks for the ideas!

The flooring is porcelain. It is from Natif and the color is Ginepro. Love the easy clean up of tile in a kitchen with the warmth of wood.

The cabinets are a custom color that I made in conjunction with the finisher. The color is a warm gray/brown.

I think chunky open shelves would have been a great option here but the client liked the idea of closed cabinets.
  • enmc
Ummm, I think you missed the point of that question..WHAT is up with that...whether they wanted a cabinet or not, it looks ridiculous. It doesn't even look functional...who has the reach REQUIRED to lean in from the peninsula to put the dishes away? It is both, too high, and too far in. Client wants a cabinet..give them one...but one that works....and looks good, too. It is especially jarring when you read that it is supposed to give the feeling of openness..and that it is a fabulous design concept that does just that! It does NOT work.

Thank you for the wonderful compliment! It is a great plan and use of space. I'm sorry that I am unable to share the floorplan with you out of respect for my clients. They worked with me to get a unique plan specific to them and their home. I can tell you that it is a very large space.

I'm sorry but I don't remember the grout color. It's something the installer and I choose onsite.

No, the barstools are ready made so there are no custom options.
