How long after installation do you wait before sanding and staining the deck? Also, what type sander do you use?

    Hi Peter,
We waited about 3 months. This was kiln dried wood so the moisture content was fine.
We applied the first coat on the raw wood, sanded lightly with an orbital sander and 100 grit sandpaper, then applied the second coat. We just did a very light hand sanding with 120 grit sandpaper prior to the third coat, just to be sure the surface was clean.
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi Janice,
The siding is Hardie Board. The colour for the lap siding is "Evening Blue" and the colour for the shingle siding is "Monterey Taupe". Hope that helps.
    Thanks,
    Brian

I would love to see a picture of the Evening Blue siding with the Monterey Taupe shingle. Thanks.

    Hi Jeff,
    Sorry for the late response.
The wall stone is Citadel French Country; High bond cream colour for mortar; Old Mill Bagged Joint; Indiana limestone as cap/sill plate.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi,

These posts were made of 6x6 pressure treated wood wrapped on the exterior with "sign board". The sign board is a plywood product with a smooth surface that is often used for exterior signs.

The trims are pine. The entire column is primed and painted with 3 coats exterior paint. All the joints are caulked and filled with exterior latex caulking to ensure no water penetration.

    Hope that helps.

    Brian

    Hi Melanie,
The stone used on this house is manufactured. It's from Arriscraft. It's Citadel "French Country".
    Hope that helps.

    Brian

    Hi,
The trim was simply 1x10 and 1x6 clear pine. The top edge was beveled and the entire assembly caulked and painted.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks,
    Brian
