Will your clients have to stain all the IPE fence and decking wood every year? OR is there a sealer you pt over it? It's beautiful!

ashsmth, Ipe, like any material, does fade with time and sun exposure. The amount of maintenance to keep the color really depends on how much sun it will see. Ipe in a fence application requires Ipe Oil every year and a half to two years on average.

Controlled ViewsUsed here to call attention to a very specific view framed almost like a painting, the modulation between clear glass and channel glass is striking. Channel glass is molten glass that has been rolled and formed into a C shape, and can be used on exterior walls as a structural wall panel. The shape lends it the strength to support itself over greater distances than plate glass alone. The characteristic ribbed pattern seen here where the vertical legs meet adds depth, interest and a vertical element to the composition.

This is the view back toward the street. The wood fence makes the courtyard an integral part of the home. The dramatic pivoting door is 5 feet, 4 inches wide and 9 feet, 7 inches high; this stands up to the scale of the ceilings, which soar up to 21 feet. Pivoting door: custom, Great Northwest Door
