where can I get the copper hood
  • Jill Mc
All the copper in this house is shiny, not hammered and it definetly shows wear and marks. But that is fine with me. It polishes up nicely and not too much effort. I will post the manufacturer of the hood this week when we are at the house.

I love the copper breakfast bar and would love to do the same. Where should I look for this? thanks
  • Jill Mc
Yes the counter is actually copper not wood. It isn't always as polished as it looks in the picture. But it does polish up easily.

As you can see copper looks good with a vary of different colored cabinets. A perfect statement piece in the kitchen. As Natalie says, copper will patina over time just like a penny but if you wish to keep your custom copper sink looking brand new, you can use copper cleansers to keep that beautiful luster.
      • Jill Mc
We love the copper in this kitchen. The sink and bar area do show wear with time. And the kitchen hood takes a good polishing about once a year (this is a vacation home, so does not get regular use). I love the patina and worn look, but if you are looking for it to be perfect all the time, that isn't going to happen in high used areas.

      Perimeter counter material ?

      - Could this be soapstone?

      • Jill Mc
The counters in the kitchen are granite.

I love granite, but it can be so busy. This one is gorgeous! It does almost look like concrete (my first choice for aesthetic, but not material). Do you know the name of the granite?
