Cypress PointTraditional Living Room, Charleston

To compliment the house's clean lines and colors, off-white slipcovered furniture fills the living room. A slice from a tree trunk has been converted into the coffee table with a metal base.

The rug is from Fine Rugs of Charleston. Rob or Chris are both great and would be delighted to help you in finding either that same rug or something compatible.

This coffee table is actually a root section that I had an iron base made for. We have it for sale in our office. Please be in touch with to inquire after pricing and shipping costs.

Hello! This was a model home for a new development that we decorated, so there is not a home owner to ask! There were a couple of inches between the wall and the refrigerator so that the door could open fully. It would have been ideal to have more space so the door could open more, but that is not always the case!

@miacometlady If you have a one-door fridge, you swing it the other direction!!

Yes, the shoe molding is stained like the floors. How tall are your baseboards? The idea behind the stained shoe molding is that it is more forgiving and takes abuse better.

    4. Incorporate natural wood pieces. The word natural is in the name of this design style for a reason, so what better way to achieve the look than by incorporating a wood element. Two easy ways to do this: a live-edge table or a tree stump side table.

Becky Harris added this to Regional Design: Charleston and the South Carolina LowcountryAugust 14, 2012

A misconception about design in the Lowcountry is that it is stuffy and traditional. "The Lowcountry as we know it in Charleston, South Carolina, is exciting and moving forward while respecting the past," says Luff. "We aren't afraid to throw in some midcentury pieces or a modern coffee table."

Dark wood baseboard strip against white molding. I’d like to see it wider
