Orrrrr....I have an idea...instead of paying a million dollars for a headboard from some sweat shop in tiawana...go to kirklands..click on furniture then headboards....stick that up your pipes and smoke it

@Shadypines... Or you could pay a local upholsterer and support local business and economy, or DIY. Kirklands and budget shops, even though good option at times, the products may still be made by exploited and underpaid workers. Plenty of options available for this look without being a jerk about it.

We have bought a 2900 sq. ft. home that I now have to fill up and I also was thinking of re-purposing our old bureaus. They look gorgeous. Just white paint and new handles. Wow! Beautiful! Now I AM going to do this since your end tables turned out so good. Thanks for the idea.

I just saw them today at Home Goods but I was thinking they were too small for my walls but never thought of putting them in front of my lamps on a nightstand. I love Michael Abrams large rectangular mirrors 60x33 in front of his lamps on a nightstand for wow factor.

What color are the other walls. - I have a large master bedroom. Would like to paint it a dark burgundy. Like the look of drama and romance in my bedroom. Wood furniture. Four post bed.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Vanessa Brunner added this to Houzz Tour: Elegant and Eclectic Femininity
While the home is done in a very clear palette — neutral background with bold pops of color — the master bedroom is the one exception. "We wanted the room to feel intimate," says Malson. "So we decided to go with a dark navy blue for all the walls and ceiling. It made the room cozy, as a bedroom should be." Since the walls are such a statement on their own, they opted for simpler bedroom textiles with subtle details. A custom designed linen headboard with nailheads offsets crisp white bedding and white pillows with custom lace accents.

Balancing act. To feel balanced and be centered on sleeping, place your bed against a solid wall and facing away from openings such as doors and windows. Also, use a sturdy headboard to create a sense of stability in your bed.
Becky Harris added this to 13 Designs for Your Upholstered Headboard
This one has a mix of curved and angular notches. No matter which silhouette you choose, opting for an upholstery nail inset will emphasize the headboard's shape.

Foundation Piece Number Four: The Bed An upholstered headboard with a great shape is an elegant choice, and is wonderful for those who like to sit up in bed and read. Even if you are not ready to buy a high-end bed frame, do put as much as you can into your mattress — good sleep is worth every penny.

An almost-black navy is an elegant choice for setting off this glamorous bed.

Charcoal and Warm GrayGray is the truest “off-black.” It’s essentially black mixed with white. Warm gray, with a slight hint of brown, is an excellent choice for making a bedroom feel peaceful and cozy when black is too stark and dramatic for your taste.Paint: Rogue Blue, Valspar
Erin Carlyle added this to The Third Rule of Home Staging: Add a Splash of Color
A Bedroom That Oozes Calm A well-staged bedroom should feel like a relaxing hotel room, with nothing too personal showing. Pale or white bedding and minimal accessories will contribute nicely to a soothing scheme. Adhering to a hotel-like feel for your bedroom, however, doesn’t mean that you can’t add a color or two. Your bed wall is the perfect place to feature a different hue. Stick to peaceful or classic colors that will work nicely with your neutral bedding. White or ivory bedding looks sophisticated against a navy wall. Similarly, a soothing aqua or pale blue painted wall would freshen up a drab or dark space, making it more inviting and relaxing. Add a mirror to your painted bed wall to help create an elegant and calming retreat.
