    Thank you for your comment. The homeowner designed the staircase to look like Japanese tansu cabinets. She was thrilled with the outcome.

    You guessed it - they are just dummy fronts. The doors do slide and the owner has mounted photos behind them as a little surprise for guests.

    The paint is from Sherwin Williams. The wall color was custom matched to the drywall mud used on the job. The ceiling color is "Steamed Milk". The home owner said you can hardly tell the difference in some light but the ceiling is a lighter color.
