Inspiration for a timeless entryway remodel in San Francisco

eco+historical Sanchez 1

Traditional Entry, San Francisco

This 1889 Victorian underwent a gut rehabilitation in 2010-2012 to transform it from a dilapidated 2BR/1BA to a 5BR/4BA contemporary family home that looks more or less the same from the street, aside from the garage addition. A fresh and modern all-white palette was chosen with black shingles on the roof and a black door. Hand-painted gold-leaf house numbers appear on the Transom above the entry. The driveway pavers allow water to soak into the ground, reducing runoff. This house achieved a LEED Platinum green certification from the US Green Building Council in 2012. Photo by Paul Dyer
