I'm also wondering about a good shutter color, and if the garage could stay the taupey neutral that it is.

Hello, The one thing to consider, as it is an external door, is how much dust and dirt it might be exposed to as the higher the sheen level the easier it will be to clean. Gloss paint has the highest sheen level which makes it ideal for exterior doors but if you prefer a lower sheen level you can use a satin or eggshell which you are still able to clean but may need repainting sooner than gloss. Hope this helps, The Designerpaint Team

Meet halfway. Want a color that’s cheerful but you can’t see yourself embracing an ultra-bright shade? For a softer approach, this duck-egg blue could be just right — and it works just as well against a white exterior as it does with this red brick.

    69. The front door of a brick house can be pretty much any color, but this baby blue looks especially fresh. Cyan and red are complementary colors, making the pairing especially pleasing. Door paint: Beaufort Gardens, Mylands of London

Brick and aqua. If you have a brick home, updating the look can be as simple as painting the front door and shutters. Consider a watery shade of aqua and shiny gold hardware to brighten up traditional brick.

White trim, mint door. All trim should be white, with stucco areas also in mint.
