Example of a large trendy dark wood floor entryway design in Miami with white walls

Entrance FoyerContemporary Entry, Miami

At the Entrance way to the foyer, we placed a bombe chest which we had lacquered in black and placed a oversized chair covered in faux white fur. The front door was painted in black and white.

    Hello Kathy,

We found this bombe chest at an estate sale in Rhode Island and had it professionlly stripped and laquered. We then found antique hardware and had it silver leafed. If you have any questions, do not hestiate to contact us again.

    Have a great New Year!

The chest was purchased at auction and we had it laquered by one of our vendors. We love the high gloss feel it creates. blending the old with the new

This is a historical home and the window is a palladium window. It is not tempered as it is over 200 years old. As we are architects, any time you have a horizontal surface which some one can stand on like a window seat or near a tub, and is within 18" of it, it needs to be tempered. I would consult your local architect or building dept to make sure as each state has variations to the law. Their is an international building code.

No it was not. As this was a historic home there were several layers of paint that needed to be removed prior to several coats of paint. Hope that helps.

Makes me consider doing a paneled ceiling on the second floor. The use of black and white is great.
