    Hi Evanexan,
The island countertop is the same height as the other countertops. I don't have the exact dimensions on these at this time but they are standard counter height.

    Thanks for your questions!

Hi Esgordon, I'm not sure which cabinets you are referring too but the one's next to the sink are standard distance from the countertop (18" above).

I'm with you -- unless they're made of metal I don't see how they'd align with the notion that combustible materials need to be a foot away from open flame (maybe it's an electric or induction stove, can't quite tell).

Hello, Thank you for your comment. This kitchen was new construction, built to code. Complete with fire retardant panel and properly spaced per IBC.

The homeowner purchased and selected these. However, I've seen similar ones at World Market. Happy Shopping!

I believe the brand is Kichler but the product line may have been discontinued.

    Hi Wright at Home,

Thanks for your comment. We like the look of freestanding islands (and tried to emulate that with the table leg look on the corners of the white portion of the island). The alder center portion was designed to look as if it is cantilevered and floating. However, this island is in fact secured into the ground.

    Kind Regards,

"We had a lot of voices throwing out ideas, which was interesting and challenging," Hall says. For instance, the family of six wanted an eat-in kitchen where they could gather for meals, so Sigurdsson created this high-top table/kitchen island. "This is a huge family center point which truly serves as the heart of the home," he says.A clever alder footrest detail on the island provides extra storage space in the column and a favorite napping spot for the cat.
