Are the hidden medicine cabinets custom made? Thanks.

  • cathyosika
Yes, the medicine cabinets are custom made. They are made out of painted mdf board and in order to make them seamless in the wall, they have a drywall corner bead to make the edge crisp.
    thanks for the question.

There is no stone. We used an old timber beam, sanded the top smooth and sealed it with marine varnish to protect from water damage. Thanks for the question.

Thanks for the question. You can put a satin finish poly-urethane finish on it and it will maintain itself very well. I would only do this in an adult bath, where someone will be more conscious of not leaving puddles and such. We also suggested to the Owner to add a glass top, but they preferred the wood and were willing to add a clear finish every year, if needed. They have had it for 5 years, and have only had to do a light sanding and a new sealer once.

The counter is 5" thick, made of reclaimed timber that we pieced together to get the width of the vanity top.

The wall tile behind the vanity is a natural limestone product. It is from Stone Source, LTD and is called Novelda Creme; it has a chiseled edge detail.

    Thanks for your question!

Beautiful! Where are the mirrors from?

    bba ARCHITECTS

The mirrors are just 1/4" mirrors with a small 1/4" polished nickel frame, set flush in the tile wall. We purchased from our local mirror installer.

    Thank you for the response!

There are 3 recess can lights above the sinks, and just out of the picture is a cove light that washes the back wall.
