The shelving appears to be reclaimed timbers - visit a local salvage yard. Look for timbers 2-3" in thickness and 9-12" in width to achieve this look. Although the installers did not do so here, I always distress and patina the ends we have to cut, for a more authentic rustic feel.

How do you distress and patina the ends?

The cable is a unique touch. I've wanted to take this approach with a few of my clients, but couldn't convince them to allow it. With your photo, maybe convincing will be easier next time. Thanks!

Floating shelves were custom made by the millworker. The wood is reclaimed white oak. A hidden cleat is built into the back so that they can be hung with exposed screws or brackets.

How deep are the floating shelves!

The grout color is natural gray. The counter top material is Petit Granite, honed and tumbled.

    13. Open shelving. Wrapping shelves around your wall corner will give you access to the entire space and cut costs in the process. Open shelving is also a minimalist feature that works well in modern, contemporary, industrial and farmhouse designs. The major con is that it’s extra work to keep the shelves clean and organized.More Kitchen Confidential: 10 Ways to Promote Aging in Place | 7 Ways to Mix and Match Cabinet Colors | 11 Islands With Furniture Style | The Case for Corbels | All Good in the Hood

I feel we could do this with the small space between oven and the window and again on other side
