They could lower the height of the TV with this type of fireplace, unless the heat is a concern. I was thinking the same thing that these TV heights are contributing to neck strain. I believe homeowners are trying to make the most out of available floor/wall space.

HHi there, the chairs were fabricated from Van Gogh designs in Surrey and were modified to increase the width by 6". The fabric was specially ordered by the client.

sorry, I didn't receive a notice of your question about the window shade. Perhaps you saw the answer in another feed, but here it is again:

I am looking to buy the 60 inch echelon fireplace but I would like to mount the television on top. How far from the ceiling Should the top of the television be to be a comfortable height? Is 14 inches enough? Thank you
  • PRO
    Kenorah Design + Build Ltd.
The placement of a TV is more about personal preference and depends on the size of the TV as well. The Echelon fireplace will include in its specifications the minimum distance for a TV to be installed above it, so be sure to consider that measurement when installing your TV. Good luck!

Hi, the fireplace is a Majestic 60” Echelon WDV600NTSC. As for gas or electric, that is more about personal preference but at Kenorah we typically install gas fireplaces.

The height of the stone under the fireplace is approx 8". The original plan was to have it lower at 5 3/4" height, but it was adjusted to accommodate the stone.

Beautiful room. I love the fireplace and color of the built ins. Do you happen to know where the tray on the ottoman came from? It looks possibly like one from Pottery Barn. I like the size and texture.

I love the fabric for the windows. It looks great with the fireplace. It's the fabric on the chairs that doesn't fit in the space, in my opinion.

Hi! A conduit was recessed behind the drywall for any present or future cable requirements. The conduit feeds from the TV to the neighbouring custom millwork where the DVD player and other components are.

The heat from a fireplace will not affect the TV when installed correctly.

In this case, the code/warranty requirement specified that the TV was to be installed a minimum of 21” from the top of the fireplace opening. We installed it at 26” from the top of the fireplace opening, giving it more space than what was required. The TV mount provides an air gap as well.

Be sure to check the code/warranty requirement of the fire place you plan on installing before hanging your TV.

I spoke with I-XL Masonry Supplies in Burnaby, BC who we use often. It's difficult to give a clear answer without knowing what type of product you currently have. However, painting the stone is an option. They mentioned that staining is also an option if you have a man made stone. Staining is ideal if you are trying to darken the existing man made stone but can not do the opposite effect (lighten). Hope this helps.

The nesting tables were purchased from Mint Interiors. They are the Alfa End tables in black glass. One medium and one large.
