This is an upholstery fabric with a 50,000 rub test, velvet piles can flatten but they rise up again, I think it is part of the beauty of the fabric. The sofas were stain protected but If you are particularly concerned about this, there are other velvets on the market for contract use which may have a higher resistance. As regards care, it is the same as for any other fabric covered sofa.

Rock a Bright ShadeColor quickly and easily highlights a signature piece. In this living room, the pink velvet sofa draws the eye immediately. This design also shows that a hero piece needn’t necessarily be surrounded by pale colors and simple forms to make an impact — the room is filled with detail and warm tones. The trick is to be bold enough with your accent shade that it trumps all others — and a fabric that catches the light, like this velvet, helps add to the appeal too.If a bright sofa is too big and bold for your taste, consider a smaller item, such as a velvet ottoman or a decorative lamp, in a bright accent shade instead.Find velvet sofas in your favorite color on Houzz

8. You’ve Fallen in Sofa Love It may not make logical sense to put a hot-pink velvet chesterfield in your living room … but love doesn’t always make sense. If you’ve fallen head over heels for a certain sofa and can’t get it out of your mind, chances are good that you’ll also enjoy having it in your space, regardless of whether it should work.Tell us: Do you have a colorful sofa?
