I would also love to know how you created the custom stain for the beams. They are gorgeous. We have similar pine beams to stain but haven't figured out how to get this greyish look
  • Molly Glauser

Love this color of beam and cannot figure out how to get this color? Would love you to share your knowledge!

If you are referring to the beam color, it is a custom stain color.

This is a mix of various stones. We used a combination on the front of the home and then brought that into various rooms throughout the home.

There are so many options for countertops....first, you have to think of what you would like as a material - do you want a natural material or a man-made? Then, you can look at the colors. I think a lighter color would like great with cherry cabinets. There is a granite called Silver Moon that is mostly white with some hints of green and grey and it has some burgundy in it as well which compliments the cherry. Let me know what you decide to use!

They were the homeowners prior to the build. She purchased on her own. And no they do not swivel.

Add structure. Exposed trusses are not just for barns and cathedrals. Here they create architectural importance. Consider arches, horizontal beams and anything else that will relate well to the structure you have.

If we ran trusses parallel to existing trustees it would look similar to this but I would put one on each wall at the sides also. The back wall would have the big windows
