Hi. Believe it or not, we just received our inquiry??? First, THANK YOU for the kind words about the room we designed :) Secondly, we no longer have the requested information, but believe the discussion you had with Walker Zanger should provide you with the direction you need to pursue the type of slate you are looking for. This type of slate is not unusual, and should be easily sourced in your part of the country. If you desire any other information, please do not hesitate to contact us again. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Hey. Thanks for the info. Got an email out to them about the lighter color. That's what I need.
Question: is the chair comfortable? Review on their website stated (another) chair purchased from Pearson was 'hard as a rock'.

    Interiors by Cary Vogel
I think the chair is quite comfortable as there is a good pitch to the back and the height of the back makes it very supportive; I have placed this same chair with another client for their country home and it is the wife's favorite reading spot... If you like a "squishy and sink into it" chair then this isn't that...Hope this helps!

Hello....The stack stone used to the left side (and right side) of the fireplace is a slate mix purchased through Arizona Stone Co. in Las Vegas. I apologize as I no longer have the name of this particular slate used as it was ordered several seasons ago. It is a blend of grey and rust slate pieces...Hope this helps!

    Thank you

Hello....There was nothing additional used between the edge of the mosaic and the firebox opening. I did have the interior of the firebox painted with black masonry/heat-resistant paint for a cleaner look.

    Thank you!

I designed the mantle and had it custom built by a local cabinet maker in Las Vegas. The finish on the mantle was accomplished by a faux painter who custom created a palate based on my directive.

The hearth material is the same as the firebox surround shown in the photo; it is a slate/quartzite mosaic...Hope this helps!

Good Morning, Thank you for your kind comments. This room also has 10' ceilings; the mantle is 64" off the floor. Happy designing!

Hello...This preserved birch tree was purchased through a wholesale distributor called Maxton which is now out of business...It is 10' tall. I would check with local design showrooms in your city to see if one can be ordered for you through a floral art manufacturer. Thanks for your inquiry and good luck on your search...

Good Morning...Glad you like this tile I used as the firebox surround. It was purchased six years ago from Arizona Tile in Las Vegas. It is a mosaic, blending grey slate and quartzite pieces giving it a bit of shimmer. I'm not certain if this is still available....

Hi...The Roman shades were fabricated by Decor 8 Interiors. You may contact Marty Gass, the owner of Decor 8 at 702.869.4888. Fabric was purchased from Duralee Fabrics over four years ago so I don't believe that it is still available.. Decor 8 is located in Las Vegas but Marty will travel to surrounding areas outside the Las Vegas valley. Hope this is helpful!

Hi Tammie...The paint color and over-glaze used on the fireplace mantle is custom; the formula was mixed by the finisher per a sample I provided. The aged appearance comes from using "Rotten Stone" as the last application. This is not reclaimed wood although that would be handsome too!

Hello, There are no other photos of the mantle...sorry! The finish is a custom antique glaze; the finisher used umber over a biscuit beige base coat and then rubbed "rotten stone" into all the crevices. Hope this helps!

Hello...The tea table is "vintage" purchased in the early 1980's. It was made by Chapman of solid brass with faux ivory accents. I'm not sure where you might locate another but I suggest looking at the website "1stDibs" as they have many vintage offerings.

Hello....The paint is FRAZEE PAINT "DRIED TOBACCO" and the number is 8216N. This is a paint name and number from a now outdated fan deck but can be color-matched. Hope this helps! Cheers!

Fire and fur. A chilly evening by the fire with a nightcap in hand is a great way to end any evening, but why not also drape a faux fur throw at the foot of your lounger. You — and your toasty toes — won't regret it.
