Where I can get the ladder and direction for the bookcase? - There is space between what used to be the formal living room and dining room (now conservatory and library - clue anyone???). We want to put a wall bookcase and use a slider ladder. I also need to secure the bookcase to the wall, not relying on the edge. If anyone knows of an easy pattern, it would be greatly appreciated...

The bookcases are custom. They were built locally by Vanguard Woodwork in Richmond, Va. The ladder is a Putman Ladder we had custom made out of NYC. They can make almost any size, color or material. Thanks- V:P

Do know off hand what material they used for the bookcase? We are building one right now in the kids closet and they initially wanted to use melamine and I didn't think it would look good. YOurs looks great.

It was from DWR but not sure they still have it in stock. It's extra narrow but long which was great for the space.

2. How do you envision using your space? A formal dining room that gets little use could be reimagined to combine features of a spacious home office, library or craft center. On the other hand, maybe you want to entertain more — in that case, try adding a well-stocked bar cart or a buffet, adjustable lighting and comfy seats.Let yourself daydream about how you would love to use your dining space, then write down five specific things you would need to make it a reality.
