Hi susan1440, thanks for your question! We are the architects of the home and do not have specific information on these plantings.

I would guess that the purple plant in the front of the border is an annual verbena. They are very common in most nurseries or garden centers.

I'm sorry I can't answer the question. We are the architects and did not do the landscape architecture or installation.

We wish we could provide measurements, but our services pertained to the architecture. The landscape design and installation was done by another party.

9. Step up (or down). Lots of gardens have level changes, which can be really expensive or difficult to deal with. In this garden, the paving has been reduced by the use of simple grass steps with stone retainers. You could easily do this with reclaimed materials, backfilling with soil and turfing the surfaces. It’s great where large steps are needed but is equally at home on narrower stairs. Just make the steps deep enough to get a lawn mower in for ease of maintenance.

Subtle terracing of grass stairs connects the more formal landscaped areas with the more pastoral ones.
