The fixture above the table bothers me. Seems out of scale & height.

The flooring was existing when the client purchased the home and we don't have any information on it?

It was built-in with the original house and don't have the dimensions but it is pretty shallow.

Ladder-back chairs. This classic style of chair with a rush seat was brought over from England by the original colonial settlers to their New World homesteads.Table: Lindsey Oval, Woodbridge Furniture; wall paint: Palladian Blue HC-144, Benjamin Moore See the rest of this home

Keep it simple. The great thing about farmhouse style is its utter simplicity. Workable basics like ladder-back chairs and farmhouse tables build the foundation, while a fresh wall color and oversize art add character and provide enough interest that you can go without much other adornment. When choosing art, you can't go wrong with prints or paintings featuring horses, cows, sheep and other farm animals.Wall paint: Palladian Blue HC-144, Benjamin Moore

Allow serendipity to strike. "We had a hard time finding the right piece for this room," says designer Dona Rosene. "Initially, the client didn't think the space was that important, and she had a limited budget for it. Then one day she walked into Domain in Fort Worth [Texas] and instantly fell in love with this painting and its size. She says it was an emotional response and bought it within five minutes despite the price."Rosene's client told her, "It was meant to be that we ended up having a prominent picture of a horse where my daughter eats her breakfast every morning. She was born horse crazy, has been on horses since she was 18 months old, and has been taking riding lessons for over a year now."

The breakfast room is just off the kitchen, and the same wall color carries through. The built-in cabinets are original to the house and the homeowner uses them to store most of her dishes. "My client loves animals and picked out this horse," says Rosene. "She also picked out the zebra in the dining room." A rustic table base and wooden ladderback dining chairs with rush seats add to the farmhouse warmth of this room.
