Hi, what did you do with the garage opening and 2. how does that opening meet the outside? Re: 2, did you build up the wood floor to align with the floor of the main house or keep it ground level so it could be theoretically used as a garage? Thanks -- appreciate any tips. A photo in the opposite direction would be awesome. I am stuck on this.

It was there when I showed up to photograph it, I swear!! Shame on me for not noticing -- or maybe I would have left it anyway. . .

What was the sq ft cost? And, was this a renovation of an existing structure or new build?

400 sq. ft floor area of playspace and 400 sq. feet of garage below. This was a renovation of an existing garage structure.

This floor is made from chestnut re-claimed from an old bar and milled into wide planks. It has a clear finish to show off the natural variation in the wood from light warm tones to darker areas. It was made by Pioneer Millworks

The walls are plywood cut into about 18" high by 8 long boards and the edges were routed so that it overlapped like panelling and we left a space between board edges of 3/16" to reinforce the horizontal lines in the room. Plywood was 1/2" thick. Vertical joints were staggered in a brick pattern. The plywood was painted with the paint cut about 50% with water to allow some of the grain to show through. It's a durable finish for play. The ceiling is T& G , I think 3/4" x 3 1/2" wood painted the same.
