Omg! This rug is an almost exact match to the rug I have. I recently purchased a teal Kashmiri rug while on vacation in India ( except that mine has a diamond/ geometric shape and not the elephant,s footprint). Now I cannot decide what color to paint my walls!

I don't know how many times I've seen pictures of your designs on here and didn't even realize until now that they were designed by THEE Julia Buckingham. lol.
I am so glad you're on Houzz. I absolutely adore you and your work. you are such an inspiration. :)

Also, is it possible to turn a dining room into a non-traditional "formal" dining space (that we really only use for special occasions and holidays), even if it has casual L-shaped banquette seating (with throw pillows and what not)?
I just renovated my first home and I'm struggling with the dining room. any feedback you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

They were vintage oversized buffalo-hair pillow covers backed in nubby looped cotton. Such a cool find and accent to the room. Thanks for your inquiry!

    Hello holland88,

This particular carpet is known more specifically as a Mauri Bokhara, It is usually made of a 100% hand-spun wool in northern Pakistan. The design is Turkoman and in the Mughal period the rows of repeating patterns were said to represent that of the elephants foot. Other scholars say it represents the gems located on the palace walls at the time. We carry similar pieces as well shown on the link below.

Hello! I am trying to recreate this room in my own living room because I'm so in love with it! Where are the couch throw pillows from?

        What Houzz contributors are saying:

Using brown and other colors. One of brown’s major strengths is its ability to relate to other colors. Brown is usually a mix of all colors, just with more red or orange for an overall warm look. Thus, it works well in a space with an eclectic palette, because it can connect with each hue to provide harmony without pulling focus. Black can sometimes work with colors, but brown is a safe bet.
