Bedroom - mid-sized craftsman master carpeted and gray floor bedroom idea in Seattle with gray walls and no fireplace

Greenlake Residence Bedrooms

Craftsman Bedroom, Seattle

This Greenlake area home is the result of an extensive collaboration with the owners to recapture the architectural character of the 1920’s and 30’s era craftsman homes built in the neighborhood. Deep overhangs, notched rafter tails, and timber brackets are among the architectural elements that communicate this goal. Given its modest 2800 sf size, the home sits comfortably on its corner lot and leaves enough room for an ample back patio and yard. An open floor plan on the main level and a centrally located stair maximize space efficiency, something that is key for a construction budget that values intimate detailing and character over size.

This is Sherwin Williams paint, but I cannot remember the exact color (owner selected over 4 years ago). Something to be aware of: colors get altered a surprising degree during digital photo editing and when displayed on your monitor (everyone's color settings are different). See this link on digital color management > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_management

The vast majority of questions we get on our projects are regarding color, and I strongly suggest you get a color wheel or sample fan from your supplier of choice. You can start by finding the sample that most closely matches the color on your monitor, but don't stop there. Look at the samples in both natural and artificial light before making your choice...the difference will surprise you.

Last, remember the digital color match option we used here. If you find the exact color you're looking for on a sample of wood or any other surface, most vendors can scan and match the color to a surprising degree of accuracy -- just make sure you check their match job before painting the entire house.

Hope this helps...good luck with your project!
