Bookshelves, cabinetry, where to look and cost?? - I am a brand new home owner with kind of a clean slate finished basement with a room of similar size (26x18). I really dont have the first idea how to go about finding materials or how much putting together a basement like this costs. Can you give me any kind of information on cost/location of materials and what it takes to create something like this? I am really interested in making it very similar to this set up. Furniture I have but all of the paneling and cabinetry and shelving I am very curious about. Thank you and really enjoy the room!

Thank you for responding! I am not the best at figuring this all out but if I have 7 feet of height and 35 approximate feet of wall width in the basement that would be around 250 feet of area times the $600 per foot? Am I right in estimating that would be $150k just for the raw cabinetry?? Pardon my ignorance to the whole thing I have never done anything like this. Thank you again!

No, it's just the lineal footage (35') x $600, which is $21,000.

Cabinetry - details (wood, stain, finishes) please - My husband wants dark wood in a library office. This design seems to compliment what he would like. Can you tell me more please. Thanks!

The wood is walnut, with two stain applications. The panel molding is stained a dark ebony, while the remaining woodwork has a more "cherry wood" stain.

What a condo!! - So, all this in just one residence?!??! Wow. A few questions: how much total sq footage is this entire condo, what floor is it on, and where is it located? The location may be sensitive, I understand, but at least tell me what state? Amazing place, would have thought it was a house if you didn't mention "high rise."

It is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The entire condo is about 3000 sq. ft. That is all I can really divulge.

1. Meeting of the minds. Why not have all of your favorite books and movies in the same room? Simply install decorative shelving for that distinguished library feel right inside your media room. Then you can choose a classic book or a classic movie all in one place.

The bookshelves are cool with the lighting - makes the room multi-purpose.

This would also be a neat idea to combine library/media room to save on space
