Is it because it's latex enamel that it requires regular painting?

i am about to paint our wood porch in a gloss gray , and wonder if this is a mistake?

Any painted or sealed surface requires some sort of maintenance program, regardless of the specification.

This house (along with the others) looks great! I would love to build a house similar to one of these. Do you know any good farmland for sale in Washington?

Benjamin Moore, Nightfall; it's the same color as the door but appears lighter on the floor due to reflections.

Black rockers on the porch tie in nicely with a black trim color and help add interest and curb appeal to an all-white exterior.

These classic rockers look stately against a traditional porch paint combination of gray floors and a sky-blue ceiling. Painting both the rockers and the dining set black gave this porch a coordinated look.

This historic house in Austin was built around 1850 and was moved twice; while I'm not sure it was ever actually a farmhouse, it captures farmhouse style. See the rest of this charming historic home

Give peeling paint a fresh coat of gloss. The front porch of this historic home is kept crisp by the black, white and gray palette as well as the glossy floor. Did you notice the gray slanted ceiling? I looked at this photo about four times before I realized that was not a shadow. See the rest of this historic home.

Scheer & Co. Interior Design added this to Rock Your Socks OffJun 4, 2011

This Austin house is a favorite on my jog through the neighborhood. I was first drawn to the outstanding hardware on the front gate near the street, but a closer (creepier) look into the front yard revealed these black rockers — a perfect complement to all the period details.

A row of rockers on the front porch offer an inviting place for company to relax.

A row of matching rockers beckons for casual conversation and contemplation.
