Sorry! I should've responded 5 weeks ago! Thank you Cinematronics & Shelton Sound for your suggestions as well! We moved into our house and had painted the room Benjaman Moore's "Deep Ochre", with a brown trim that pics up some of the brown in the carpet. The ceiling is black and the chairs we plan to purchase will be black as well..... We LOVE how it turned out! I'll post pics when chairs go in and its's officially complete!

THX actually recommends darker pallettes for Home Cinemas yet not exluding color. Rich deep tones make for a space you won't tire of quickly nor will it go out of style. Your room sounds very nice. Looking forward to seeing the pics once its all done.

    Cheers,

    Love it, great look

The ceiling is light foam based panels with led's built in. The lights actually flicker at random. The panels also help with acoustics. Most custom audio video dealers can source them for you.

It's not paint. It is a Fiber Optic Starfield. Usually consists of three different sizes of Fiber Optic wire with a light generator hidden somewhere in the ceiling. There is also color changing lighting too !

@Mark, there is 3/4" on the top of the cabinet. That's all you need for cove.....

That looks like a screen for projection vs. a flatscreen.

    Rugs Done Right
The right rug pad can act as an absorber of sound and lift the rug off the floor so it doesn't get wet if you have more leaks! Fabric absorbs sound quite well, which is why theaters have fabric walls and drapery. Hope this helps answer your question. Great space by the way!
