Hudson River DuplexModern Bathroom, New York

This apartment combination connected upper and lower floors of a TriBeCa loft duplex and retained the fabulous light and view along the Hudson River. In the upper floor, spaces for dining, relaxing and a luxurious master suite were carved out of open space. The lower level of this duplex includes new bedrooms oriented to preserve views of the Hudson River, a sauna, gym and office tucked behind the connecting stair’s volume. We also created a guest apartment with its own private entry, allowing the international family to host visitors while maintaining privacy. All upgrades of services and finishes were completed without disturbing original building details.

It was custom made based on our design. Honestly, I think most of the pre-made vanities out there aren't great quality. I would consider speaking with a local cabinetmaker in your area and have something made. Best, MS-A

Curious if you ever learned who makes those tiles?

Those tiles are made by Stephanie Dubsky. She's very talented.

Thanks. The faucets are from the Techno line by Cifial. You can find similar faucets by Hansgrohe.

This is a custom medicine cabinet designed by our office. The bit of wood you see on the edge is teak. Robern makes a similar medicine cabinet although without the wood detail.

Thanks! The niche was built without a template out of wood framing, cement board and waterproofing (we like Laticrete Hydroban). There's a thin LED strip light mounted in a recess at the top of the niche (designed for wet locations). The tiles were painted by a colleague of ours. I hope this helps!

The bathtub is made by Zuma. It's a very simple acrylic tub that can either be a drop in or undermount. We've recently used similar tubs by Fine Fixtures and the Duravit D-Code. The Duravit D-Code has a very nice center drain, two person tub. Hope this helps.

It's just a porcelain lampholder with a silver-tipped bulb. You can find them at any electrical supplier and cost about $10.00.

The vanity is custom made of teak plywood with solid wood edging. The handles are very simple edge pulls from Grupo Romi.

10. Go wild with tub or shower accessories. In the tub is where the action is for most little ones. This is where it’s OK to put that bright green frog suctioned to the wall, or a few rubber duckies and friends. Place these items low so your tots can easily access them. If you have a built-in tub shelf, that’s the perfect spot. Otherwise, two separate bathtub storage holders — one for toys and one for cleaning gear — are usually enough for a fun bath time without getting in mom or dad’s way.Tip: Look for storage containers that quickly air-dry, clean easily and adhere to the walls to accommodate different heights. Mesh or plastic containers with suction cups are ideal, as they are typically durable and mildew resistant.More8 Storage Solutions for Shared Children’s Bedrooms How People Upgrade Their Main Bathrooms, and How Much They Spend
