That's a silly comment! I need to get a shower into a 110-year-old cottage without spending much money and working with a small bathroom that has a tub. A shower ring is probably the only way to go.

Love the look. However the comments make me lean toward the shower ( nowhere near as lovely) for my farmhouse B&B renovation.

What type of wood floor is this? Reclaimed? I am wanting to do a painted wood floor like this, but I am on a low budget.

Correct - this is painted reclaimed flooring. Prices vary but reclaimed pine is commonly available and may not be as pricey as you think.

This bath was designed for a family with young children. As the kids get older, a shower curtain ring will be added.

Did the family add a shower curtain? I have a very similar setup and am trying to figure out how to install a surround shower curtain on a slanted ceiling.

Unfortunately I don't have that information, but several manufacturers including Robern and Restoration Hardware make something similar.

Unfortunately I don't have the manufacturer of those - our client found them while window shopping.

      1. Make It Look Like a Spare Room Again, think back to the time when farmhouse owners switched from an outhouse to an indoor bathroom: Most people ran their new plumbing into a spare bedroom or an attic space. So the new bathrooms were generally spacious and had odd ceiling angles. Plus, it meant that the orientation of the bathtub, sink and toilet didn’t always line up like you see today. Following this approach is a good first step to nailing the style. Architect James Dixon used the spare-room concept with this New York bathroom, which is actually part of a newly built home. He intentionally made the ceiling pitch down at odd angles to make it feel like the bathtub, sink and toilet were plunked down in an old attic space or extra bedroom. “I live in an 18th-century farmhouse that was once a lot of small bedrooms. Some were converted to bathrooms,” he says. “They tend to be very quirky, so making a new bathroom look this way makes them look more believable.”Painted antique wood flooring helps convey the style as well.
