Gesso is a white or grey paint mixture consisting of a combination of a binder, chalk, gypsum, and pigment and can be found in an art supply store. My flooring company simply thinned it out with water and mopped it onto the floor. Once it was dry, they buffed or sanded any areas that were too think and then applied 3 coats of commercial grade Bona sealer. Your floor man may need to play with it on samples to come up with a a good formula for you.

I purchased the framing from a frame shop. So try your local framer in Breaux Bridge or Lafayette and find a frame that is large (this one is about 6"+ wide) and in the coloring that you are looking for. They typically come in 10' lengths and then I had the trim carpenter cut and install it.

Great. Thank you. What part of La. are you from?

Duron is the brand. They were purchased by Sherwin Williams several years ago and they may be able to still make it.

The fabric is also from Stanford and it is a solid blue linen with an ivory linen accent.

Hi Janie. I'm trying to replicate this trim look in my home. I've searched, but unfortunately have been unable to find the post you mention that lists the backband style number used in the casing. By any chance, do you still have that information? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

1x4 with a back band is all I have. Enlarge the picture and share it with your trim carpenter.

Birdsnest is also a Duron Martha Stewart color. Sherwin Williams bought or merged with Duron years ago, so they should be able to find the formulas to make the paint.

Hi Sarah - This overall size of the tub is 68" long x 31" wide x 20" deep. As for the space requirements around the tub, that would depend on your local building codes. A contractor would be able to guide you on that. Glad you enjoyed the show house. I was very proud of the master bath that I designed. Look for it in the September issue of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles and some time next year in Traditional Home. Thank you!

Congratulations, can't wait to see those issues!

So much more goes into designing a bathroom than just the size. I would recommend hiring a designer where you live and have him or her lay this out for you.

That side table is actually an antique foldable tray table that has a grey wash of color on it.

One of my favorite choices for a chair is a dressmaker's cut, sometimes referred to as a drop skirt. It creates a casual but tailored vibe. This detail works great with linen and cotton. Notice the contrasting band on the bottom edge. Pretty!
