Jackson SquareModern Living Room, San Francisco
Nestled in the former antiques & design district, this loft unites a charismatic history with lively modern vibes. If these walls could talk. We gave this industrial time capsule an urban facelift by enhancing the 19-century architecture with a mix of metals, textures and sleek surfaces to appeal to a sassy & youthful lifestyle. Transcending time and place, we designed this loft to be clearly confident, uniquely refined while maintaining its authentic bones.
What Houzz contributors are saying:
Duscheone says the previous stainless steel fireplace surround drew too much attention away from the room’s other features. To remedy the situation, the designer replaced the stainless steel with drywall. “The simple white surround adds a contemporary touch, and it also brightens the room,” she says. While the designer added drywall to one side of the room, she stripped it from the other side. Duscheone removed the drywall that concealed an original steel beam in the corner of the living area. “Exposing the steel beam added to that industrial loft vibe we were going for,” she says.
