Yes this backsplash is 24" above the counter. The extra height above a sink makes a big difference.

How do you open the glass doors without handles? - I love, love, love this kitchen! It is my inspiration picture for the kitchen I'm currently creating. How do you open the glass doors without handles? I love the clean look, but have had trouble figuring out how to operate the doors effectively if I omit handles. I had originally planned free-swinging doors with magnetic catches, but no one seems to make those these days. Also, are your hinges "soft-closing" or "self-closing"? If the latter, do you have issues with the glass hitting the cabinet too hard? just now

Are these special hinges or soft close hinges used for wooden cabinet doors? If they are special ones, please could you advise on suppliers? Thank you.

Most hardware companies make a hinge for glass doors. Check with your cabinet maker, they all like a brand they are familiar with. Our cabinet maker uses Salice. Thanks for asking.

These frosted glass doors were made for the custom cabinets. Most glass shops can fabricate doors like this. Thanks.

They are veneer walnut, that is the only way to get the grain matching on the large panels. It is more economical and stable then glued up solid wood. Thanks for asking!

Frosted Glass color? - There is a Azul color, as the kitchen is titled that the glass is. I don't think this is just a frosted tempered glass. Can you specify if this was a colored glass that was frosted to attain the aqua coloring? Thanks Bonnie

This is just regular frosted glass. The inside of the cabinets are grey which brings out the green in the glass. Thanks!

What veneer cut / layout is used? - I am trying to achieve a similar wood veneer pattern for my client's. On these cabinets the wood veneer appears to be rotary cut with a pleasing match, though I do see that it is bookmarked in some areas. Can you confirm whether or not I am correct? Great work. Many thanks!

The walnut veneer is bookmatched across all the door and drawer fronts. We ran it horizontally to accent the look we created with the panels.

Glad you like them! The doors were sourced by our local custom cabinet shop. Any glass fabricator should be able to make these. The hardware is standard in Euro cabinet construction.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Lisa Frederick added this to Choose Your Kitchen Cabinet Glass
FrostedGood for: Modern kitchens and nonneatnik homeowners. Frosted glass, which is blasted with sand or grit to achieve its translucent quality, lends a cool, sleek feel to a space. Because it screens the objects it fronts (some better than others), you can probably get away with a stack of mismatched melamine or a jumble of tumblers. You also can have frosted glass etched with custom designs to add one-of-a-kind style.
Shane D. Inman added this to 8 Beautiful Ways to Work Glass Into Your Kitchen Cabinets
2. Frameless glass-front cabinets. Traditional glass-front cabinets have a wood frame with a glass center panel. Frameless glass-front cabinets have just one sheet of glass for the entire cabinet front. More contemporary in design, they create a sleek appearance with their decorative hinges and lack of hardware. You may have to hunt for this style — many cabinet lines do not offer it.Browse contemporary cabinets
