The stone we used for this project is Bluestone in a full color range. The sconces on the kitchen were provided by a local lighting store.

The light fixtures are from World Imports' Dark Sky collection

Can you please identify the stone used for the flooring and the brick type/color used on the kitchen?

  • PRO

The flooring is bluestone, as is the countertop of the kitchen. (The countertop is honed, while the paving is natural cleft finish). The brick was purchased from the builder's quantity of home brick, so that it would match exactly. I believe it is General Shale 'Chesapeake' or similar.

Would you run the same carpet throughout your house?

Thank you for your interest in our project. The island bar is custom made from a single slab of bluestone. It is 48" in diameter. We raised the counter to bar height 42" above the patio.

Thanks for your interest in our project. We think it is the perfect patio too! The pergola posts extend out of the masonry cabinet. That yielded a finished look where all elements are integrated.

Thanks Karen, We think this project is a keeper too! The arch in the arbor is cut out of wider boards. The are doubled up either side of the post for added depth. We do not have an aerial view of the kitchen. The main counter is constructed as an arc that flows into the circular table area. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your interest in our project. The kitchen counter height is 36". The island table is at 42" to allow for standard furniture to be used. The backsplash is one full brick laid vertically with a bullnosed bluestone coping (8" brick plus 2" coping). The kitchen cabinet is built on an arc and the backsplash flows into the island table. A better detail of that transition is shown in another image from that collection. Good luck with your project.

We are pleased you like our project. The cedar arbor was primed before construction and the finish coat is the stain that was used as the body color for the home. The color is a custom blend by the painter.

We love these sconces! They are from World Imports and are part of their dark sky collection. They are manufactured in a number of styles and sizes. Hope your project turns out famously!

Are the bluestone countertops honed?

  • PRO

Thanks for your interest in our project. Yes, the countertops are honed bluestone. They are 2" thick and have a bullnosed edge treatment. We prefer honed over polished finishes outdoors. There is less water spotting!

Thank you for your interest in our project. We do not have the color in our files. We repeated the homes trim color on the landscape woodwork. You might consider colors that already exist on your home first. Good luck with your project!
