Kitchen Addition Contemporary Kitchen, San Francisco

Cabinetry with no backs, in front of a large kitchen window. Placing windows behind the cabinets makes dramatic use of wall space that would otherwise be covered in cabinetry. Sunlight and garden views become a part of the kitchen.

How are the cabinets attached to the wall and frame? - Loving this look! Can you please share details on the thickness of the cabinet rear frame, that allowed you to screw it into the wall and window frame without a back? Can a regular glass door cabinet be used without its back, and mounted in this fashion?? Thank you!!

These are custom window mullions that act as posts. There is no back to the cabinetry, and it is schematically similar to what you described. The cabinets have glass doors with no back, set directly in front of windows.
