Kitchen: Classic Design with a Unique Herringbone Backsplash

Traditional Kitchen, Seattle

The classic and tailored design of this kitchen was inspired by a busy family who loves to cook and be together. We needed to accomplish much in a small space. Top priorities were a highly organized kitchen with a place for everything; plenty of counter space for 2 cooks and a herringbone backsplash. By removing a wall and widening the main entry to the kitchen, we created an open feel with a direct relationship to the dining room. The custom cabinets were carefully planned. We considered all of the family's storage needs and incorporated amenities such as roll out pantries, deep drawers and a built-in open bookcase to house an impressive cookbook collection. The herringbone tile installation was a created with Ann Saks subway tiles. The installation was labor intensive but the final result was a real wow factor in the space!
