This kitchen and dining space beautifully embodies Santa Fe Style Architecture, where traditional adobe-inspired elements meet modern function. Exposed vigas and smooth plaster walls anchor the space in the legacy of Adobe Architecture, while custom wood cabinetry and artisanal niches highlight the craftsmanship valued in Historic Preservation Santa Fe. The turquoise kitchen island adds a contemporary yet regionally inspired touch, blending seamlessly into the home’s Custom Residential Design Santa Fe. Guided by the vision of a skilled Santa Fe Architect, the design achieves warmth, authenticity, and livable elegance, honoring history while embracing modern living.

A tiny kitchen that was redone with what we all wish for storage, storage and more storage.
The design dilemma was how to incorporate the existing flooring and wallpaper the client wanted to preserve.
The kitchen is a combo of both traditional and transitional element thus becoming a neat eclectic kitchen.
The wood finish cabinets are natural Alder wood with a clear finish while the main portion of the kitchen is a fantastic olive-green finish.
for a cleaner look the countertop quartz has been used for the backsplash as well.
This way no busy grout lines are present to make the kitchen feel heavier and busy.

This inviting kitchen features a Shade Grown Sherwin Williams green island paired with Alabaster white perimeter cabinets and a few white oak touches, creating a beautiful earthy contrast.

The distressed green island sits atop brown stained hardwood floors and creates a focal point at the center of this traditional kitchen. Topped with ubatuba granite, the island is home to a Viking cooktop and metal barstools painted ivory with sage green chenille seats. Visual Comfort globe pendants, in a mix of metals, marry the island’s antique brass bin pulls to the pewter hardware of the perimeter cabinetry. Breaking up the cream perimeter cabinets are large windows dressed with woven wood blinds. Walker Zanger glass tiles in blues, greens and tans clad the backsplash, which wraps the kitchen along with honed black granite countertops. Continuing beyond space are the breakfast room, butler’s pantry and dining room.

This 1956 John Calder Mackay home had been poorly renovated in years past. We kept the 1400 sqft footprint of the home, but re-oriented and re-imagined the bland white kitchen to a midcentury olive green kitchen that opened up the sight lines to the wall of glass facing the rear yard. We chose materials that felt authentic and appropriate for the house: handmade glazed ceramics, bricks inspired by the California coast, natural white oaks heavy in grain, and honed marbles in complementary hues to the earth tones we peppered throughout the hard and soft finishes. This project was featured in the Wall Street Journal in April 2022.

Tile flooring in a kitchen looks fabulous and is functional as well. But it can be hard to stand on for long periods of time and can be cold as well. Let Floor Coverings International show you some options that offer the look of tile without these disadvantages.

A retro 1950’s kitchen featuring green custom colored cabinets with glass door mounts, under cabinet lighting, pull-out drawers, and Lazy Susans. To contrast with the green we added in red window treatments, a toaster oven, and other small red polka dot accessories. A few final touches we made include a retro fridge, retro oven, retro dishwasher, an apron sink, light quartz countertops, a white subway tile backsplash, and retro tile flooring.

Glass and bronze-framed doors open to reveal a kitchen that’s equal parts hardworking and serene. Glossy green cabinetry and honed marble surfaces define the palette, while a sculptural island grounds the space with warmth and texture. Designed for a young family, the layout balances openness with the ability to close off the kitchen for quieter moments.
