KitchensContemporary Kitchen, San Francisco

This walnut kitchen was built in collaboration with Union Studio for a discerning couple in Mill Valley. The hand-hewned cabinetry and custom steel pulls complement the exposed brick retained from original structure's former life as the Carnegie Library in Mill Valley. Design & photography by Union Studio and Matt Bear Unionstudio.com.

The brick is a great textural feature. Who is the manufacturer or is it reclaimed brick?

Love it! What stain?

I think the cabinets are stunning. I don't know much about it. What is a rub-on poly? is there a particular brand? Also, is this black walnut? Many thanks!

Just the pot rack on Etsy. It comes from Renaissance Metal in Austin Tx.

Where did you get the "Ginger" sign and what does the whole thing say?

Thanks for checking our Houzz page out. We are the cabinetmakers and unfortunately have no idea where the owners or designer picked up that cool sign. Always reminded me of an eye test for some reason. If you have interest in custom cabinetry - please check our our website thelastinch.org - and good luck on tracking down the sign or one similar - I would suggest checking OneKingsLane.com or BallardDesigns.com

Hello, I keep coming back to this photo and can't stop staring. Can you tell me what the floor is and what the countertop is, too?

Is this solid wood or a veneer?

Love this. Is that a skylight? For others, remember to seal the brick, it can pick up cooking oders.

Sorry I missed your question. Believe the pot rack was sourced by the owner or designer Matt Bear

The hardware was designed by Union Studio and custom fabricated by The Last Inch out of cold-rolled steel. Thank you for your interest!
