Lake House KitchenBeach Style Kitchen, Portland Maine

A new horizontal wood slat stairwell wall highlights the wood paddle balustrade. A simple wood hand rail is a subtle accent on the boldly shaped ballusters. The homeowner, who has a penchant for woodworking, designed and built a pair of reclaimed wood tables for the new space.

hi luke, the horizontal planking is 1x6 painted poplar, milled to leave 1/8" inch reveal.
the craftsmanship and finishing is critical in pulling off the consistent clean lines.

    thanks, bill

it is modeled after an actual canoe paddle, the key to the pattern is the 2" baluster btwn the inverted shapes
