Lake Travis RetreatContemporary Family Room, Austin

The custom steel floating bar houses great cheap Texas beer (Lone Star- known as the 'National Beer of Texas') and a good scotch. The custom Juliette balcony also allows for great breezes to flow through the space while sitting inside. Or the two doors to the left bring you out to the roof top deck. Juliette built by J-Ru.

Copenhagen Furniture carries these chairs. I believe they are the referenced as the 'sling chairs'. If they don't have a showroom in your location I would recommend you contact the Austin location. They are extremely helpful. Jette Hicks is my contact and she never fails to go above and beyond.

It is a design by Le Corbusier. The licensed version is sold by Cassina but there are many reproductions. Our version comes from an Italian manufacturer called Matrix International.

I believe we actually got this at Home Goods. It was a fantastic deal.

They are a handsome product that allow for maximum glazing (in this price point). We find customizing fiberglass for dark frames to be rather pricey and a less attractive look.

These windows are Thermally broken Aluminum windows/sliders from Milgard in Anodized Bronze. However, I would not recommend working with an aluminum window that is not thermally broken.

Here's a bit more information about the windows used on this project: http://www.milgard.com/design-tips-and-inspiration/case-studies/lake-travis-retreat.asp

The stairs lead up to this bright solarium, which extends the family's entertainment area to the second floor. The room works works triple duty as a lounge, media room and bar for the adjacent roof deck (the door to the left leads there). A Juliette balcony allows them to open up the sliding doors to safely welcome the breeze.Pony sling chairs and Wassily chairs mingle Texas ranch and modern styles.Artwork: Erica Wildman; console: Marshalls; pony sling chairs: Copenhagen
