Thank you so much Emily. I was just curious as it appears very close to my "Christian D" that I had installed in the Fall of 2012. It is also an exotic and I just love it and everyone who has seen it - also feels the same way - very different. Thanks for the detailed follow up. Linda

Having the same-size range and range hood should be fine! We do this in many of our kitchens. Having a range hood that extends beyond the range cabinet is a nice, but is only workable if the clients have a luxury of space. In our opinion, 36" range hoods over 36" ranges work great ;)

    Hope this helps! -Emily

Thanks Emily, it does help. Our kitchen is big (20x22) but there is limited wall space, and that's what drove me to the 36'' hood. Love the look of the wider one, but happy to to hear you think it works!

Update: The granite shown in this kitchen is an exotic stone called 'Betularie.' Other similar stones include Sienna Beige and Star Beach. If you are looking for a more common and cost-effective stone in similar colors, Santa Cecilia and Giallo Ornamental are some great alternatives. -Emily

The backsplash tile is by Interceramic and is called "Glossy Shimmer Blend" in the color "Desert" (comes in 1 sqft sheets).

We haven't heard any complaints from our clients on their downdraft ranges! While heavy cookers may prefer a traditional over-the-range hood, downdrafts are often fine for regular use and are great for space-constrained kitchens. -Emily

Hi and thanks for the question! Unfortunately, we do not have the information on these pendants as they were chosen by the clients themselves, late in the design process. Sorry!

Hi and thanks for the question! The ceilings in this kitchen are actually 10' high. On the range wall, the main upper cabinets are 42" high, with 18" display cabinets above, and a built-up 6" 2-piece crown above that.

Of course, and thanks for your interest! In my opinion, if one wanted to make the mantle larger in this kitchen project, for example, I think it would still look proportionate with the range and surrounding cabinetry.

While you want to maintain proper proportions, a slightly larger range hood / mantel can be a stunning feature in a kitchen, especially if you have the room to make it work (for example, your 9' ceilings will help). Here's an example of a range hood that is much larger than the range:

As always, if you're unsure about how something might look, ask your designer or cabinet person if they could do a quick sketch! It's very helpful to visualize how everything will look together. -Emily

Hi and thanks for the question! Each bank of upper cabinets to the right and left of the range is 48" wide, so you're correct -- there are a total of (4) doors that are (about) 12" on each side. -Emily

Hi and thanks for the question! This kitchen is 11'-11" wide. Cabinetry is typically 2' deep, this island is 2' deep as well, and walkways should be at least 36" wide.
