1. Do something amazing with your best vacation photo of the year. Instead of letting those gorgeous shots languish in a drawer (or on your hard drive, more likely), have one supersized and framed or printed onto canvas.
Another sitting area adjacent to the fireplace echoes the same colors of the previous photo. Cunningham and Foster stuck with a earthy palette of browns, turquoises, and reds throughout the house. By using the same tones in each room, they were able to tie the entire house together. Sofa: Mitchell Gold Dr. Pitt sofa Red side table: Bungalow 5 Photo over the sofa: Markham Roberts, from James Sansum Fine Arts.

Another thought...find a photo you've taken during your travels (something hi-res) that gives you good memories and makes you feel relaxed and have it blown up big to be the focal point, above the sofa whatever wall is prime. You can get something as this for under $200. Or you can have it broken into a diptych or triptych for more presence.
