12. This spot is meant for two to relax together on the weekend with The Wall Street Journal (it’s OK to go straight to the Off Duty section first, because you’re off duty). Mix in the local paper and swap sections with your partner. Sip chai tea.
A nest doesn't always have to be a cramped space. You can also use furniture to create spaces that might seem too tight design-wise, but these spaces feel just right for cuddling up with a friend over coffee. The proximity of the furniture to the three walls, as well as to the other person, creates security. Meanwhile vistas exist out the window, into the room and up to the ceiling.
Place two wingback chairs facing each other under a window or against a wall to create a cozy conversation area. This works because when you're seated, you are looking at the person in the chair in front of you, not at the space around you. An ottoman or table between the chairs is both functional and helps soften the look.
