Living Room Spring RefreshShabby-chic Style Family Room, Richmond

I added some Spring touches to my Cottage Style living room. Plants, Terra Cotta Pots, Glass Cloches, and light and airy colors make this room fresh for Spring. Photos by Mikey Fuller

Rossnoelle, initially I planned on saying something mean/call you a name in response to your incredibly rude comment to this designer. But thankfully I took a moment to think about it and decided I wanted to be more mature and classy than that. Surely you must realize there is a vast range in people's styles so naturally what appeals to one person may not appeal to the next? Therefore, there is no reason to make negative comments to someone about their preference in style, or anything else. I leave you with a little tip that I find the need to remind myself at times and hope you can do the same .... "Because kindness matters".

I love this room. Too bad, Rossnoell was having a bad day.

The corner cabinet is a vintage pice I picked up five or six years ago. Check out your local antiques shops for a painted piece or if you don't mind painting it yourself, hit up the junk shops and maybe the Fleamarket!

This is a discontinued color from Valspar. Jadeite Bowl by Martha Stewart. Sherwin Williams Bottle Green is a close, but less blue match.

The corner cabinet is an antique. Check your local shops! Good luck on your hunt.

A little of both. I am not Catholic, but am Christian and love and respect all of the symbolism, art, statues, etc. of the Catholic & Orthodox church and have been collecting them for quite some time. I keep most of my religious items in my dining room, as I have an altar for a sideboard, but I have so many religious items, they spill into other parts of the house! I guess the long and short of it is she is there mainly for decor, but never to be ignored for who she is!

A friend gave the rug to me. He had it for 20 years or more. . .I think he picked it up second hand when he bought it. If you look at more recent photos, you'll see where I've replaced this rug with a solid grey rug, which came from World Market. Sorry I'm not more help!
