Our homeowners approached us for design help shortly after purchasing a fixer upper. They wanted to redesign the home into an open concept plan. Their goal was something that would serve multiple functions: allow them to entertain small groups while accommodating their two small children not only now but into the future as they grow up and have social lives of their own. They wanted the kitchen opened up to the living room to create a Great Room. The living room was also in need of an update including the bulky, existing brick fireplace. They were interested in an aesthetic that would have a mid-century flair with a modern layout. We added built-in cabinetry on either side of the fireplace mimicking the wood and stain color true to the era. The adjacent Family Room, needed minor updates to carry the mid-century flavor throughout.

This lakefront living room showcases sweeping views of Lake Winnipesaukee through grand arched windows framed by custom millwork. A floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and natural wood mantel bring warmth and texture to the airy vaulted ceiling design. The soft, neutral furnishings and coastal-inspired palette create a serene space that celebrates the beauty of the lake beyond.

The view of the lake is the perfect backdrop of the living room where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the breath taking atmosphere. The chairs from DWR presents a detailed rope open back that gives the space more interest.

This breathtaking two-story great room is the focal point of this mountain home with golf course and lake views and a cozy fireplace. The 23-foot-tall soaring ceilings and a large two-tier chandelier anchor the space. A deep cobalt blue velvet sofa provides ample seating, along with deep comfortable wood framed swivel chairs to take in the view. The client always admired her grandmother's blue velvet sofa as a child and requested that we re-create this beautiful memory for her in the family's new space. The 22' tall navy drapery frames the view perfectly and colorful modern artwork finishes off the grand space.
