We used this as inspiration using reclaimed elm - which is beautiful. The big difference is that our footboard is floating.

There is nothing special about the construction of this bed. It can easily be custom made, and this one probably was. There is a bed very close to it at West Elm, the Emmerson bed.

The Emmerson bed at West Elm is nice, but this one is nicer. Where can I get this?

The wood is all reclaimed so we don't know the original species.

It looks to me like reclaimed elm. Here is a bed that we just made. It is a great wood. Lots of knots and character in it.

To highlight the beautiful frame of a platform bed, I like a crisp coverlet tucked in all around. A coverlet is different from a duvet because it is a thin, single layer without an insert. Fold the front corner flap under the side corner flap for a perfect square corner.Bed frame: reclaimed lumber, Four Corners Home

      11. Layer the pillows. Start with the pillows you’ll sleep on — slip them into their cases, tag ends first, and align the pillowcase seams with their edges. Plump them up and prop them against the headboard or wall. If you’re using European shams, which are usually between 26 and 32 inches square, add those next. Then come standard-size shams, and finally, throw and bolster pillows (three are usually plenty).
