hi there - with regards to where to buy the cudboards I replied to your email but today I got a email saying I go to comments and reply so I will repeat my last note and hope I'm not repeating my self. I just ordered my new kit with shutters on top and shakers on the bottom I thought it might be too much with all shutters and I am also having all drawers but under the kit sink which will be doors so you would not see much anyway. I bought my kit from Loews in etobicoke on North Queen st near Sherway plaza if you know the area. We worked with Mapy and Yolana and they met are every need without tying to sell us anything. They were great. If you can go there you will be really be pleased, mention our names (Joanne & Wolfgang) T he supplier is Schueler Cabintrey which you can find online, they are out of the US . good luck and if you need any more info just email me.

You can very simply duplicate this look by going to Lowe's! Schuler Cabinetry offers Manhatten Maple which is the recessed panel style door and Key Largo Maple which is the louvered style door. Schuler also offers a variety of white enamel paints to select from.

The louvered doors on the cabinets are exactly what I am looking for for the top half of my pantry. Where can I find them? Thanks

They were a standard door style for a manufactured cabinet. I've seen others that were very similar. I can't give you a manufacturer's name ... maybe a vendor close to you can help?

It most likely is, but I don't have easy access to the house.... Even if you were working directly with us, we'd chose something currently available and not go back to a 10 year old spec thereby making our suppliers very happy. :)

We are thinking of using unfinished wood flooring on our peninsula. Much easier than having my husband make another butcher block. Does it have to be sealed with poly or can I use oil?
    Thanks

Oil would be preferable, I think, just make sure it's suitable for contact with food (no chemical nasties).

I don't have the manufacturer's name for the sink but you can find "farmhouse" sinks in lots of places. The countertops are brazilian cherry.

I don't remember the color but when we're working with manufactured cabinets, I like to pick their "best" white and match everything else to that.

No, these came from a local cabinet company. I don't have the manufacturer's name, but they were purchased 10 years ago. This is not reinventing the wheel- quite a few companies could do this. What makes it work is the subtle combination of shaker, louvered and glass doors... and the wood counter top... and the solid base... and the painted wood ceiling ... and the restrained color scheme... and... ;)

I'm not sure what a Mass. farmhouse door is... so many aspects of houses that we think are regional (I think this is as southern as sweet tea), really aren't I suppose. :-)

The trim, wall and ceiling are all the same color. I don't have the paint color ... if I remember correctly, it's somewhere in the range of B. Moore "glacier white".

We worked with a local cabinet supplier that is no longer in business. We picked from one of his standard suppliers stock cabinets. This is not an expensive kitchen but the design makes it look that way.

6. Heart of the home. Kitchens are the heart of a farmhouse. Since this is a heavily trafficked area, finishes are meant to be tried and tested. Apron-front sinks, sturdy wood countertops and solid cabinetry may look great, but they were originally designed to take a beating and cater to a house full of guests. Get this look: Farmhouse-style apron-front sinks can work in any kitchen. But if your budget is limited, add ceramic accessories, like utensil holders or dishware. A few well-placed, chunky cutting boards can substitute for farmhouse-style butcher block counter.
