What Houzz contributors are saying:
6. Keep it simple. This potting shed may be unassuming, but the combination of natural materials and colors is a winner. This look is ideal for those on a budget. The key principles of good design become even more important in a modest space: Maximize light, ensure that it works for its intended purpose, avoid clutter and keep it simple.By making the space uncomplicated and balancing the workaday elements with splashes of color and greenery, you can create a shed you’ll be happy to spend time in.
2. Choose rustic materials that aren't too precious. This beautiful carriage house is new but was designed to look like a barn that might have served the Lowcountry property in another era. It serves many purposes, including holding cars, but my favorite is the beautiful potting shed.Bin pulls, wood countertops and a brick floor give it charming antique style. It not only has room for preparing plants for the garden, but also has a sink so that the owners can prepare floral arrangements.
