where can you get that tray underneath the bench

  • hasday1

I bought it a long time ago at Smith and Hawken which is no longer in business. There are similar copper boot trays available all over. We filled it with medium sized rocks so the dirt and melting snow filters to the bottom and is out of sight.

We live in MN, so the climate is similar. Rocks are decorative, but also allow melting snow and salt to filter to the bottom of the tray away from the boots. The floors are heated, so that helps the melted snow dry up on its own.

Thank you for the reply, it's a gorgeous idea, and a more than fancy floor!!

        3. Clean entryway floors. If winters are cold where you are, road salt and melting snow can mean entryway floors take a beating. Pick up clutter and give the floors a good mopping. To keep floors looking their best between cleanings, stash a few old towels in a basket near the door to wipe up messes. How to Clean Your Hardwood Floors

        3. This compact and efficient Midwest mudroom off the kitchen features useful storage pieces in timeless finishes and colors. V-groove wood walls contrast the dark wood stain of the built-in bench and storage cubbies. Black hexagonal tiles are a classic style, but their oversized dimensions modernize the space. A built-in bench provides a convenient place to remove muddy shoes, while hooks can hold leashes and coats. A tray underneath the bench stores shoes. Additional items can go in the storage cubbies.

Maybe a hex that is less of a solid black color?
